As we move into the next stage of the vaccination programme, our vaccination sites across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire continue to offer walk-in appointments for all those 18 and over for first and second doses. The Booster programme started this week and, as part of this, jabs will be offered to over 50s, frontline health and care workers and clinically extremely vulnerable and clinically vulnerable people. Those eligible for a booster vaccination will be contacted by the NHS inviting them to book in for their jabs. Members of the public who are eligible for a booster vaccination are asked not to contact the NHS to seek a vaccine – the NHS will contact them. People across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire are being urged to speak to their local community pharmacist to get the medical attention they need for minor illnesses – and to help the NHS to manage current pressures. The plea is being made to avoid people suffering with minor illnesses – like coughs, colds, sore throats, tummy trouble and aches and pains – from attending accident and emergency departments unnecessarily. Hospitals

• There have been 79 admissions relating to Covid-19 in the seven days to 19 September, which compares to 77 in the previous 7 day period
• 187 beds were occupied by Covid+ patients on 21 September, this compares to 198 beds on 14 September
• Of those 187 beds, 14% (27 beds) were mechanically ventilated
• In the week from 16 – 22 September there were 13 deaths, which compares to 13 the previous week

• July saw 492,711 GP appointments with 57% being face-to-face and 51% being the same day or next

Vaccinations

• Latest figures show in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire 11,511 vaccines have been administered in the last week. In total, 1,397,963 vaccinations have now been administered with 668,920 of these being second doses.
• A breakdown of the figures, alongside ONS population estimates, show vaccines have been administered to 93.6% of people aged 80+, 100% of people aged 75-79, 97.9% of people aged 70-74, 93.5% of people aged 65-69,  99.3% of people aged 60-64, 97.3% of people aged 55-59, 92% of people aged 50-54, 85.3% of people aged 45-49 and 90% of people aged 40-44, 84.6% of people aged 35-39, 81.2% of people aged 30-34, 64.5% of people aged 25-29, 67.3% of people aged 18-24 and 7.7% of people under the age of 18.
• Second doses have been administered to 92.2% of people aged 80+, 100% of people aged 75-79, 96.9% of people aged 70-74, 92.3% of people aged 65-69, 97% of people aged 60-64, 94.8% of people aged 55-59, 89.4% of people aged 50-54, 81.6% of people aged 45-49 and 84.3% of people aged 40-44, 77.2% of people aged 35-39, 71.8% of people aged 30-34, 54.4% of people aged 25-29, 54.1% of people aged 18-24 and 1.7% of people under the age of 18.

Once a patients calls 111 or visits 111 online they will be navigated to the most appropriate service, first time by a trained operator. The operator will even be able to book appointments and timeslots at the most appropriate health service for your needs. 

Visit the NHS Urgent Care Centre 

• Nottingham – The NHS Urgent Care Centre (next to the BBC building) is open every day from 7am-9pm. It deals with non-life threatening injuries and health problems. You don’t need an appointment to attend. Seaton House, London Road, Nottingham, NG2 4LA Tel: 0115 883 8500 
• Newark – Newark Urgent Treatment Centre at Newark Hospital is open 9am-9pm. It can be found on Boundary Road, NG24 4DE  
• Sutton In Ashfield – Primary Care 24 is open 24 hours a day and can be found at King’s Mill Hospital, NG17 4JL
