The NHS is urging the public to make sure they are protected against Covid-19 as we head into winter.
The virus has not gone away, and our hospitals are still seeing people who are being admitted with Covid-19 and it is more important than ever that the public are fully vaccinated which includes dose 1 and 2 as well as the booster, if eligible.
Over 50s (and from Monday 22nd November those aged 40-49) and people over 16 with a health condition that puts them at high risk of getting seriously ill from Covid-19 are eligible for the booster and the public can book an appointment on the NHS website or by calling 119.
Hospitals
- We have seen 64 admissions in the seven days to 14 November, which compares to 100 in the previous 7-day period
- We had 189 beds occupied by Covid+ patients on 16 November, this compares to 186 beds on 9 November
- Of those 189 beds, 12% (22 beds) were mechanically ventilated and in the most critical condition
- In the week from 10-16 November there were 19 deaths, which compares to 12 the previous week
