Today a fifth Local Vaccination Service has opened at King’s Meadow Campus in Lenton in Nottingham City, making a total of eight sites now offering vaccinations in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
The NHS is vaccinating over 80s, care home residents and health care staff at the highest risk in line with JCVI guidance and we are inviting people to attend these appointments by letter.
We would like to say thank you to those who have waited patiently for their letter before making an appointment, this has meant we have been able to prioritise the most vulnerable such as the very eldest and those at higher risk.
If you are over 80 and have not yet received your letter it will be arriving imminently, with all letters being received by Tuesday (January 19).
We would like to assure you that there are enough vaccines for all over 80s and we are on track to have everyone in this top priority cohort vaccinated by the end of the month. This is the biggest vaccination programme the NHS has ever undertaken.
It is a huge challenge and our teams are working exceptionally hard to coordinate and administer the vaccine to those in our communities as quickly as possible. Next week we will be sharing more information on what you should do if you are still waiting for your letter.
