A new local provider has successfully secured the contract for Platform One GP practice following a recent local Expression of Interest process.

Nottingham City General Practice Alliance (NCGPA) will be taking over the provision of GP services to patients but from a different city centre location on Upper Parliament Street, less than a mile from where Platform One Practice currently is. The practice name is Parliament Street Medical Centre.

The NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) contract with NEMS was due to end on 31 March 2021, however a three month extension has been agreed to make sure all patients have a smooth transition to the new provider.

This means NCGPA will take over the delivery of GP services for patients that live within the inner city boundary of the new Platform One Practice from 1 July 2021 onwards. Until then patients should continue to get medical support and advice from Platform One Practice via the usual contact number.

Patients will soon receive a letter outlining the changes due to take place and the CCG will be working with established community groups across the city to make sure all patients are aware and supported with the changes.

The remaining 3000 patients will be allocated to practices closer to their home address as GP services delivered by the new provider will now focus on the inner city population. These patients have previously been made aware of these changes and will receive a further letter with the details of their new GP practice soon. If patients wish to register elsewhere, they do have a choice and can do this providing they live in their chosen practice boundary area. Patients are asked to wait until 1st July 2021 onwards before registering with an alternative practice to allow the transfer process to complete in its entirety.
