If you are a patient at Queens Bower Surgery, you may receive a letter today or in the coming days telling you that from 1 October onwards, you will be a patient at a new GP practice closer to your home address. Please do not worry, there is nothing for you to do.
In December 2020, the former GP of Queens Bower Surgery made the decision to stop providing primary medical services from the practice.
Since then Rise Park Surgery have taken over services on a temporary basis until a permanent solution could be found. This temporary arrangement with Rise Park Surgery will end on 30th September 2021. This means they will no longer be running GP services from the practice and Queens Bower Surgery will be closing, and you will no longer be a patient there.
You will receive another letter in September telling you who your new GP practice is. If you want to register at a GP practice of your choice, you can do this as long as the practice covers the area you live. Please wait until September to find out which GP practice you are being moved to first before registering elsewhere. Details on how to register at a different GP practice will be included in the letter you receive in September.
If you have symptoms you are worried about or need medical help between now and 1 October, please continue to contact Queens Bower Surgery on the normal telephone number to get the help you need. From 1 October 2021, you will need to contact your new practice.
Please read this Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document for further information.
The CCG also ran an engagement consultation for patients of Queens Bower Surgery to help consider options for a permanent solution before a decision was reached. A report on the survey can be found here. If you have any further questions or cannot access an electronic version of the survey, please contact the NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire CCG Patient Experience Team on 0115 883 9570 or email nnccg.patientexperience@nhs.net.
