People in the 50 to 64 year old age group will not be vaccinated until November and December, providing there is sufficient vaccine, and no appointments will be offered for this age group until then.
This is to ensure that those who are most at risk are vaccinated first.
If you are 50 to 64 and you are in one of the other groups which is eligible for the flu vaccination, for example you have a health condition which puts you at risk from flu, you will be invited earlier.
Dr Stephen Shortt, Joint Clinical Leader at the NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire CCG, said: “With winter approaching and the additional pressure of COVID-19 this year, we understand that many patients are keen to book in for their flu vaccines.
“Our priority first and foremost is to ensure that those who are the highest risk from flu are vaccinated first. We can then look to vaccinate further patients later in the year, providing there is sufficient vaccine available.
“We do anticipate that this year due to the COVID-19 outbreak, there will be more vaccinations made available than usual and will update patients as soon as we have further information. We will operate in line with national guidance when providing updates.”
