Following the retirement of Dr Phillips after 47 years of service to the NHS, Dr Phillips’ practice at Radford Health Centre will permanently close on 30 June 2020.
Due to coronavirus, the health system including GP practices are operating slightly differently to prioritise patient safety. All patients registered at Dr Phillips’ practice at Radford Health Centre have been allocated to new GP practices to make this transition as easy and seamless as possible.
All registered patients have received a letter from NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire CCG and NHS England informing them of Dr Phillips retirement, the closure of the practice and the new GP practice they have been allocated to.
If patients need medical support during this time, they are advised to contact Radford Health Centre who are still offering telephone and video appointments. Patients may need to contact their new allocated practice to seek medical help if their registration has already been processed. Alternatively, patients can call NHS 111 for advice or visit NHS 111 online for coronavirus advice.
Patients are able to register with an alternative practice to the one they have been allocated but are asked to wait until after 30 June 2020. This is to allow the allocation process to be completed in its entirety. Patients should also be aware that due to coronavirus, practices are unable to register patients face to face at this time, so are asked to wait until it is safe to do so.

Dr Manik Arora, GP and GP Representative (Nottingham City) at NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire CCG said:
“On behalf of NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire CCG, I would like to thank Dr Phillips for the continued hard work, dedication and support she has given to her patients over the past 47 years. Dr Phillips has devoted her time spent in the NHS to look after and protect those at the greatest risk of poor health.
“On a more personal note, I would also like to express my gratitude to Dr Phillips for all the support she gave me when I started as a new GP in Nottingham back in 2007. She will be missed by both patients and colleagues.
“We wish Dr Phillips a very happy retirement.”
A spokesperson for the CCG added:
“To make the transition as easy as seamless as possible for our patients, we have reallocated them to a new GP practice based on their postcode. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the health system has been operating slightly differently to prioritise patient safety.”
