Three temporary pop-up sites, which opened in December as part of the national push to vaccinate as many people as possible, have closed their doors.
NHS bosses are grateful to the thousands of people who came forward and boosted their immunity as part of the national Omicron emergency as well as the hard-working staff and volunteers who worked on the sites.
This means that NHS teams can maximise the number of vaccinations being delivered and make sure they are situated in the right places to increase uptake in areas which need additional support.
The three sites – The Victoria Health Centre, The Richard Herrod Centre and The Newark Showground have closed following a successful vaccination push which saw thousands more people coming forward for a jab over the Christmas period.
Latest data shows that more than 84 per cent of eligible adults in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire have had two vaccines and 62.9 per cent have had a further booster jab. The pop-up sites assisted in the big push to vaccinate as many people as possible before 31st December
Amanda Sullivan, Accountable Officer at NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire CCG, said: “We are very grateful to the hard-working staff and volunteers who have worked at these sites over the last few weeks, their support has played an important part in keeping the public safe.
“Moving forward, we need to redeploy the staff working at the pop-up sites to utilise all our resources into getting as many people vaccinated as possible. We are very grateful to the people who attended the centres and other facilities for their booster and to the staff who have worked incredibly hard to get as many people boosted as possible over the Christmas period.
“If you haven’t yet had your booster or a first or second dose then there is plenty of availability across the city and county. People can find their nearest walk in site on the ‘Grab A Jab’ website or book an appointment on the NHS website. We have plenty of availability so please do make sure you get protected.”
