A new vaccination site will open in the centre of Newark this weekend.
The site, which will operate each weekend out of the Newark Health Centre in Portland Street, is set to open on Sunday (28th November).
This takes the total number of sites in the Newark area to six: Collingham Medical Centre; Boots, Newark; Well Pharmacy, Balderton; Hawtonville Pharmacy, Newark; Brackenhurst University Campus, Southwell and Newark Health Centre.
Amanda Sullivan, Accountable Officer at NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire CCG, said: “It is fantastic to see a new site opening in the Newark area offering more provisions for people to get their booster jab when they become eligible.
“We hope that by adding a third site to Newark town centre, the public will feel reassured that there are lots of options in Newark and the wider area for people to get their booster vaccine and protect themselves.”
The public are being encouraged to book their booster jab appointment as soon as possible. Those who are eligible include over 40s, those with a health condition that puts them at serious complications from Covid-19 and health and social care workers. People are eligible 182 days after their second dose.
While the Newark Health Centre gets up and running, the public will be able to book an appointment here. The centre will appear on the NHS booking website in the coming days.
The public can also book an appointment at a number of other local pharmacy clinics through the NHS booking website or by calling 119.
