Local NHS bosses have urged all over 50s to take up the offer of a Covid-19 vaccine before supply reduces in April.
The NHS is urging anyone who qualifies for a jab but has not yet received one to book an appointment in the next few days before slots dry up. Those who are currently eligible include over 50s, frontline health and social care workers as well as those who are clinically vulnerable and carers.
In Nottingham and Nottinghamshire more than 471,352 vaccines have now been administered to the top 9 priority groups but in each cohort there are still a number of people who have not yet booked.
A number of appointments are still available. If you are eligible, you can book your Covid-19 vaccination appointment by visiting the local booking link or call the local booking line on 0115 883 4640 between 8am – 6pm during weekdays and 9am – 1pm on weekends.
Over 50s can also call the National Booking Service on 119 or use the national booking link to book an appointment at the large-scale Mansfield Vaccination Centre or their nearest pharmacy-led site.
Across Nottinghamshire, there are now 6 pharmacy-led sites offering the vaccine to those who are eligible. These include: The Towers in Mansfield, The Village Hotel in Beeston, The Riverside Pharmacy in Bulwell, Nabbs Lane Pharmacy in Hucknall, Edwinstowe Pharmacy and Jaysons Pharmacy in Wollaton. Boots is also opening three further sites in Nottinghamshire this Saturday (27 March) at the Victoria Centre in the city centre, Beeston and Newark.
Amanda Sullivan, Accountable Officer at NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire CCG, said: “The vaccination programme in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire has successfully vaccinated thousands of eligible people which is a testament to the hard work of staff and volunteers.
“In April, we are expecting a reduced supply of vaccines which means we will be focusing on providing second doses to the public. This means it is very important to take up the offer of a vaccine if you have not done so already.
“We have a number of fixed-sites offering the vaccine across the county as well as a number of pharmacy sites. Please book your appointment as soon as possible if you are over 50, clinically vulnerable or a frontline healthcare worker. We have plenty of slots available this week and over the weekend.”
