The Forest Recreation Vaccination Centre has reopened after a refurbishment ahead of winter to offer people across the city their Covid-19 vaccinations.
The site closed in September to expand the inside space and ensure it was suitable for cold and wet periods of time in the winter months ahead.
Now the site, which is situated on Gregory Boulevard, has reopened and is vaccinating those who are eligible for a first, second and booster doses of the Covid-19 vaccination.
Amanda Sullivan, Accountable Officer at NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire CCG, said: “It is fantastic to have the Forest Recreation Vaccination Centre back up and running as I know how important it has been for those in the city to receive a jab quickly and conveniently.
“I would like to thank those involved in preparing the site for the months ahead for their hard work and dedication to getting the work done quickly so that we can get back to protecting the public ahead of what is set to be a tough winter ahead.”
Lucy Hubber, Director of Public Health in Nottingham, added: “It’s great to have the Forest Recreation Ground back as a place where people can get their Covid-19 vaccination. We want to make it as easy as possible for everyone to go along to grab their jab.
“The Forest Recreation Vaccination Centre is open every day, including weekends, from 8.20am-1.40pm and 2.20pm-7.20pm. There’s plenty of free parking, as well as good bus and tram links – plus there are experienced staff around to help answer any questions people might have.
“Please remember it’s not too late to get vaccinated. Your jab is waiting for you, whether it’s your first, second or booster. We want everyone to benefit from the protection the vaccine offers.”
Those who wish to book an appointment can do so by calling 119 or through the NHS website.
Boosters are being offered to over 40s, people over 16 with a health condition that puts them at high risk of getting seriously ill from Covid-19, and health and social care workers. These groups can have their booster once six months has passed since their second dose.
