A new provider has taken over services at Queens Bower Surgery in Bestwood Park with immediate effect.
The change in provider is due to the current GPs decision to stop providing General Practice Services at the surgery from 4 December.
All registered patients will receive a letter from NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and NHS England informing them of the changes to the service. Patients are not required to take any action.
Patients can still contact Queens Bower Surgery on the same telephone number 0115 920 8615 and the location of the surgery will remain the same. The surgery will remain open; however, Rise Park Surgery will run it in the interim period until a new permanent provider is found.
Dr Manik Arora, GP and GP Representative (Nottingham City) at NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire CCG said: “As commissioners our top priority is to ensure patients are able to access high quality primary care services. We fully support the principle that all healthcare providers should be held to account for the quality of care they give to local people.
“We have been working with the practice since the GPs decision to cease the provision of General Practice Services at Queens Bower Surgery.
“We are assured that Rise Park Surgery, an established local provider will provide a high quality level of service and care to patients of Queens Bower Surgery in the interim period until a new permanent provider can be found.
“Patients are reminded that due to the coronavirus pandemic, GP practices are working slightly differently but are still open and operating. Patients may be given a phone, video or online consultation and will be invited in for a face to face appointment where necessary.”
If patients have a health concern or symptoms they are worried about, they should continue to contact the surgery and the new provider will be available to provide support. Due to coronavirus, the health system including GP practices are working slightly differently to prioritise patient safety. Patients may be offered an online, telephone or video consultation but will still be invited in for face to face appointments where necessary.
If patients would prefer to register at an alternative practice, they can do so providing they live in the practice boundary area. Patients should visit the NHS website and put in their postcode for a list of nearest GP practices. Patients are reminded that due to coronavirus, some practices may not be registering patients face to face so are asked to call in advance.
If you are a patient registered at Queens Bower Surgery, you will receive a letter within the next few days regarding changes at your practice taking effect immediately.
