Bilborough Surgery will close from next month following a decision by the current provider at the practice to end their contract with NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).
All registered patients of Bilborough Surgery are being allocated to new GP practices based on their home address postcode to make the transition as easy and seamless as possible.
Patients will receive a letter from NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire CCG informing them that Bilborough Surgery is closing and providing details of the new GP practice they have been transferred to.
Last patient appointments at the practice will take place on 4 May 2021. Until then, patients should continue to contact Bilborough Surgery if they need medical help or have symptoms they’re worried about. From 5th May, 2021, patients will need to contact their new GP practice.
Due to coronavirus, general practice is operating differently to prioritise patient safety. Patients may be offered telephone or video consultations and will be offered face to face appointments where clinically necessary. Alternatively, patients can call NHS 111 for advice or visit NHS 111 online for coronavirus advice.
If patients wish to register at a different GP practice to the one they been transferred to, they can do this as long as their chosen practice covers the area they live. A list of GP practices can be found at: www.nhs.uk. Patients need to enter their postcode for a list of their nearest GP practices and contact their chosen GP practice to ask to register with them.
Patients are asked to wait until after 5 May 2021 before registering with an alternative practice to allow the allocation process to complete.
