Key clinical leadership appointments have been confirmed for Nottingham and Nottinghamshire CCG.
Dr Stephen Shortt and Dr James Hopkinson will share clinical leadership responsibility for the CCG, encompassing the roles of clinical chair and clinical design authority lead.
These joint leadership arrangements will enable a clear link between setting strategy and establishing new ways of providing care and treatment for patients.
James and Stephen have previously served as the respective clinical chairs of Nottingham North East CCG and Rushcliffe CCG.
The leadership appointments were announced at the same time as new GP place-based representatives for different localities covered by the CCG, and a new clinical lead for the integrated care system (ICS) in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
The new clinical lead for the ICS is Dr Nicole Atkinson who previously served as clinical chair of Nottingham West CCG.
David Pearson, independent chair of the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire ICS, said: “We believe it’s very important to have a strong clinical voice in local healthcare decisions, and I’m looking forward to working with the new clinical leaders going forward.”
Three place-based GP representatives will sit on the CCG governing body. Dr Hilary Lovelock will represent mid-Nottinghamshire, Dr Manik Arora will represent Nottingham City locality and Dr Richard Stratton will represent south Nottinghamshire.
